Trail Signs:
• Most Signs are self explanatory.
• There are three general types of signs
• Regulatory- inform of traffic laws and regulations
• Warning- alert users of hazards on or adjacent to the trail
• Guide- provide guidance to and from a destination
Page 21 of the ND 2007 – 2009 SNOWMOBILE OPERATIONS & SAFETY GUIDELINE BOOK outline the most common signs seen on the trail.
Orange trailblazers, like you see below, are what mark the trails. There will be one blazer on either side of the trail. The gives you the safe corridor to travel on. Always stay in between the trailblazers!!

The three trail situations are to let you know where to drive on the trail. Always snowmobile in between the trailblazers. 


The following diagrams show common hand signals used while riding on the trails. please review these by raising your left arm and acting out each signal.
Why do you use your left arm?
Because your right hand is needed to control the snowmobiles throttle.
